FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Fort Wayne police say the subject of a Monday pursuit is also a suspect in a homicide.

Fort Wayne Police Department Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Cortland Avenue for reports of a shooting at about 1:30 a.m. Monday, according to the department. Callers told 911 dispatchers a male was shot and put in a car that then fled the area.

Area hospitals were notified, but no reports of a victim arriving at one of them came in.

Despite an about one-minute response time, police arrived on the scene only to find a large amount of blood and shell casings in the alleyway behind the 600 block of W. State Boulevard. Through interviewing witnesses and canvassing the area, investigators identified suspect vehicle(s) involved in the shooting.
