A journalist has responded to Attorney General Pam Bondi saying she would crack down on hate speech following the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk by sharing a 2024 social media post by the conservative activist where he said that hate speech "does not exist."
Mehdi Hasan, who formerly hosted a show on MSNBC , responded to comments by Bondi with a screenshot of an X post by Kirk, in which the conservative posted, "Hate speech does not exist legally in America. There's ugly speech. There's gross speech. There's evil speech. And ALL of it is protected by the First Amendment. Keep America free."
