A woman returning home from work was carjacked at gunpoint by a group of teenagers on Shepton Street in Dorchester early on Saturday morning, leading to a frantic police search and, possibly, a related home invasion and the arrests of five suspects in another section of the neighborhood.

According to a detailed, but redacted police report reviewed by The Reporter, the victim was attempting to park her car on the tightly packed residential side street between Florida Street and Dorchester Avenue around 2:45 a.m. when, she said, a group of teens wearing hoodies and masks accosted her.

One of the young men, holding a gun to her face, forced her from the car before the group jumped in and took off with her car and the victim’s cell phone, which was left behind.
