After Florida's top court turned away Pulitzer Prize Board members who tried to slam the brakes on Donald Trump's defamation lawsuit until he was out of office, the president's lawyers have filed a notice in the trial court setting a date for the deposition of an independent reviewer who was revealed to have defended Russia probe reporting awards given to The Washington Post and The New York Times in 2018.

The brief notice from Trump attorney R. Quincy Bird said Stephen J. Adler is scheduled to be grilled under oath on the morning of Oct. 21, a notable development considering that the board alluded to Adler's work backing the awards in the very statement Trump alleges was defamatory .
