ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - City of Asheville officials are inviting residents to sign up to serve on four newly formed Helene Recovery Boards.

The boards are designed to guide Asheville’s recovery and resilience efforts following Helene, according to officials.

Project Manager Alex Smith said, “These boards will provide input to City Council, share information within their networks, and ensure the community’s voice is central in shaping recovery strategies.”

The four boards will provide input on the following areas:

Housing – Addressing post-disaster housing stability, exploring temporary and permanent housing solutions for displaced residents, and proactive policies to reduce future displacement.
