Brian Grant and Terry Porter have rejoined the Portland Trail Blazers franchise. Grant played in Portland from 1997-2000. Porter served from the time the Blazers selected him 24th overall in the 1985 NBA Draft through September of 1995, famously pairing with Clyde Drexler to take Portland to the 1990 and 1992 NBA Finals.
Grant is serving in a player mentorship role. An article from the Oregonian quotes a team source saying the former forward sought out the franchise and asked to be a part of their growth process.
“He came to us and said, ‘I really like what you guys are building and I want to be a part of it,’” a team source told The Oregonian/OregonLive. “He’s already spent time with the guys and has been around every day this summer. Everyone is thrilled to have him.”
Porter will serv
