An attorney for Amanda Maison has asked the court to move her client's murder trial to a different county.

Defense attorney Sharon Parrish cited the ongoing "Justice for Matthew" movement which advocated for prosecutors to file a case in his death for years.

Matthew Maison was found dead in his bed on Feb. 19, 2018. In the seven years between his death and the arrest of Amanda Maison and her ex-boyfriend Maurice Houle, Matthew Maison's grandparents advocated for charges to be filed in the case, particularly after an autopsy report found Matthew Maison had died by a homicide caused by "blunt traumatic injuries with features of mechanical asphyxiation."
