HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The City of Huntington and the Huntington Police Department are getting an extra boost to their budgets.

State Treasurer Larry Pack presented “unclaimed property” checks at Huntington City Hall this morning.

The city and the police department both got checks worth more than $50,000.

Treasurer Pack tells us he knows the funds will be put to good use, helping to protect our local law enforcement.

The state treasury tells us there is $25 million in unclaimed property in Huntington alone.
