BRIDGEPORT (WV News) — North Central West Virginia Girls in Aviation Day will return Saturday for the fourth year in a row at the Robert C. Byrd National Aerospace Education Center.

The free annual event is aimed at getting middle and high school-age students, particularly girls, interested in pursuing careers in aviation, said Tracy Miller, president of the Mid-Atlantic Aerospace Complex.

"We open it up to all kids under 18," she said. "Even though it's called 'Girls in Aviation Day,' it's open to all kids under the age of 18."

Activities will include flight simulators, a sheet metal riveting and engine borescoping station, aviation-themed jewelry and crafts, drones, and much more.
