NORFOLK, Va. — A preliminary hearing is set for Thursday for the sailor charged in the death of Norfolk sailor Angelina Resendiz.

Resendiz, 21, went missing from her barracks room on Naval Station Norfolk on May 29. Her body was found in Norfolk nearly two weeks later, and another sailor has been in pre-trial confinement since the day Resendiz's body was identified in June.

The cause and manner of death for Resendiz are officially marked undetermined, the chief medical examiner announced last month.

A charge document acquired by 13News Now last week states that Seaman Jermiah Copeland is facing a charge of murdering a fellow sailor.

13News Now will be at the trial and will bring you all the latest details.
