SEATTLE — The city filed its first lawsuits Tuesday under a new ordinance targeting graffiti vandals, seeking nearly $40,000 in damages from three taggers accused of defacing property throughout Seattle.
According to a Tuesday press release, City Attorney Ann Davison's lawsuit requests $40,000 in civil penalties and restitution from the three individuals that use the names "Allure," "Labrat" and "Nomas." The office said these individuals have committed 25 violations of the new ordinance, which Seattle City Council passed last year, and have been identified by Seattle Police Department. Final restitution is dependent on the costs of abatement.
