WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Senator Roger Marshall is reflecting on how he can change his tone to tame down political violence in the United States. On Tuesday, the Republican senator quoted the late President Ronald Reagan, saying he doesn’t have “political enemies,” only “political opponents.”
Marshall told reporters that he may need to adjust his personal political rhetoric, as it could contribute to the political division in the U.S.
The change in political tone from Marshall comes after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
In a statement to 12 News, Marshall said he’s mourning the loss of Charlie and keeping his family in his prayers. He also praised the FBI for their work on the case—and made clear his stance on gun policy remains unchanged.
