Glenn Maleyko is officially the next Michigan superintendent of public instruction.

The State Board of Education on Tuesday finalized a three-year contract with Maleyko, who currently serves as the superintendent of Dearborn Public Schools.

Maleyko will begin the state job Dec. 8 and will earn an annual salary of $272,000, according to a copy of the contract shared by the Michigan Department of Education.
