Detroit — The Detroit City Council wants the Detroit Land Bank Authority, the city's largest property owner, to undergo a forensic audit by the state of Michigan Office of the Auditor General.
The council approved a resolution Tuesday calling for the audit, which would look at financial records, property transactions and more. The measure was sponsored by Councilwoman Mary Waters, a longtime land bank critic who has raised the question of whether the authority still needs to exist.
