SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The South Bend Community School Corporation is on the struggle bus when it comes to getting students to and from school.
That’s because the district is dealing with a shortage of school bus drivers.
The district is so short staffed that the interim transportation director is driving students to school and other drivers have come out of retirement to work part time.
Phillip Hutchen is asking the South Bend Community School Corporation to step it up when it comes to bus transportation.
A few weeks ago, he says he got an email from the district saying his daughter, who attends Wilson Elementary School, would not have a ride home.
