Marda Loop Italian restaurant and bar is in the running for the airline's annual trailblazing culinary hotspot title

An Italian eatery in Marda Loop built on the owner’s mother’s recipes and sheer determination has again received recognition as a top restaurant in the country.

Air Canada released its annual finalist list of best new restaurants that are deemed trailblazing culinary hotspots. The sole Calgary restaurant and bar on that list is DOPO and Bar Rocca, both owned by Tony Migliarese.

Thirty-one restaurants from across Canada made the list, which will be whittled down to a top 10 at a celebration in Toronto, hosted by Canadian chef, cookbook author and television personality Chuck Hughes.
