NORMAL ( 25News Now ) -Rivian is expanding nationwide, as the electric ride maker just broke ground on a $5 billion facility in Atlanta, GA, on Tuesday morning.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp was there alongside other state and local notables.

The new Georgia facility is expected to create 7,500 jobs by 2030, along with 2,000 construction jobs.

Georgia will help build Rivian’s next-generation vehicles, including the midsize 5-seater R2 SUV and the R3 crossover, which Rivian founder and CEO, RJ Scaringe, believes will be more affordable than their current models.
