Wide receiver Christian Kirk has missed the first two games of the season for the Texans, but he’s expected to make his team debut on Sunday when Houston visits his former team, the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Houston coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters on Tuesday that Kirk, who spent three seasons in Jacksonville before he was traded to Houston in March, is set to play this weekend.
The Texans (0-2) are hoping Kirk’s return from a hamstring injury will boost an offense that ranks last in the NFL in points per game (14) and has scored only two touchdowns. Quarterback C.J. Stroud has thrown for 395 yards and only one touchdown.
A second-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals in the 2018 draft, Kirk spent his first four seasons in Arizona before signing a four-year, $72 million deal with Jacksonvill
