PHOENIX — The Avondale Police Department said shots rang out in the city on Tuesday afternoon.

Police officers with the department were involved in the shooting, but it’s unclear whether they discharged their weapons.

The Avondale shooting took place in the area of Elwood Street and 125th Avenue, police said.

According to police, there is no threat to the public. Police did not specify if anyone was injured in the shooting.
