TOKYO — Oregon had a powerful showing in the 1500 meters Tuesday as former Duck Jessica Hull and recent UO graduate Klaudia Kazimierska delivered standout performances on the global stage.
Hull captured bronze in 3:55.16, earning Australia its first-ever medal in the event and building on her growing international resume, which includes a silver at last summer’s Paris Olympics.
Her tactical race kept her in contention until the final strides, where she held off Kenya’s Nelly Chepchirchir to secure the podium finish behind gold medalist Faith Kipyegon and silver medalist Dorcos Ewoi.
Kazimierska, making her World Championships debut as a professional after signing with Nike in July, finished seventh in 3:57.95.
