A Frankfort judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Auditor Allison Ball that called on Gov. Andy Beshear's administration to implement a bill that would give more benefits to families in the kinship care system.
In his Sept. 15 ruling , Franklin Circuit Judge Thomas Wingate said the Cabinet for Health and Family Services — accused in the lawsuit of failing to cooperate with the auditor's office's investigation into the lack of implementation — had worked to provide much of the information Ball had requested and the issue "has not yet ripened into a concrete dispute."
