On Friday, Jamie Nickerson death came as a shock to the community. His friends describe him as a generous person.

"I'd want people to remember how much he cared," said Mark Debonee, a friend and president of the Enfield Little League where Nickerson was a coach.

Nickerson died while on a lawnmower near Enfield's town hall. He worked for the town for 18 years in the Department of Public Works. As part of his duties, he took care of the grounds at town hall and at baseball fields throughout the town.

"He loved and Enfield baseball," said longtime friend Mark Cekala. "He knew to make sure that the mound was done at the exact right height."
