The 49ers accomplished a rare feat with their 26-21 win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at Caesars Superdome, which could prove to be a good omen going forward.

San Francisco became the first team to open the season with consecutive road wins with two different starting quarterbacks since 1988, when the 49ers started 2-0 with Week 1 and 2 starts from Joe Montana and Steve Young, respectively. The Red and Gold finished with a 10-6 record that season and went on to win Super Bowl XXIII, their third championship in franchise history.
