SAN JACINTO COUNTY, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety is mourning the death of one of its Troopers.

Texas DPS stated Trooper Jerry Wayne Adamick Jr. died in a crash in San Jacinto County on Monday, Sept. 15.

Adamick, 44, was driving on FM 945 South while responding to assist other law enforcement partners with an emergency call when his vehicle went off the side of the road, hit a tree and caught fire, according to DPS.

The department said Adamick died on the scene. The crash is reportedly under investigation.
