ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Vietnamese national has pleaded guilty to intentionally setting a Woodstock nail salon on fire in 2021.

Cang Thanh Luu, 48, entered into a negotiated guilty plea on Aug. 26. He was found guilty of second-degree arson and second-degree criminal damage to property, according to the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office, which covers Cherokee County.

Luu was sentenced to five years, with the first three in prison and the rest on probation. He was also ordered to pay $382,589 in restitution.

On Jan. 12, 2021, Woodstock firefighters and police were called to Nick’s Nails, a nail salon off Highway 92. The flames badly damaged the business and surrounding stores.
