CARLTON, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Big changes are ahead for Carlton Middle and High School. With the unanimous vote by the school board Monday night, the district is moving forward with plans to consolidate with Wrenshall, a decision that’s expected to have an impact on the community.

Andrew Tuttle is a local parent with two kids enrolled in the Carlton School District.

Tuttle worries about upgrades that the school buildings are in need of in a few years, saying the financial pressure of having two buildings may bring about rushed decisions.

“They’ve bled money doing it that way, and I foresee the same problem happening if they continue a two-site system in the future; so, I’m all for consolidation, I just want them to do it smartly and correctly,” says Tuttle.
