Crews of contractors and volunteers have almost finished restoring power and water to one small Mohave County community, even as roadways lie in ruin almost two weeks after one of the worst flash floods in recent memory.

According to Mohave County District 4 Supervisor Don Martin, utilities have nearly been restored to the town of Meadview, following a Sept. 5 flood swept through the community of about 1,400 residents. Martin described the experience at this week’s meeting of the county’s governing board, where he described the disaster as one of the first true tests of his leadership after he took his seat on the county’s governing board this year. ×
