BARDSTOWN, Ky. —

State and local leaders from different parts of the commonwealth and across the political aisle found common ground on Tuesday at Heaven Hill Distillery, where they met over a shared identity in Kentucky — bourbon.

Leaders from the hospitality industry in both Louisville and Corbin, KY, Senate President Robert Stivers, Sen. Jimmy Higdon, and Mayor Craig Greenberg were among the crowd for a special Elijah Craig barrel selection.

"We want to show the people of Kentucky, no matter where you're from or what your politics are, we're still Kentuckians," said Stivers. "We're still people. We're still friends, and we're still neighbors."
