SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
A Nevada man has been arrested and faces charges that include kidnapping after a girl who was reported missing was found at a Sacramento Greyhound station, Nevada officials said.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said it received a report Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. of the juvenile being missing from Silver Springs.
Investigators determined that 31-year-old Gordon Alexander Bayne, of Silver Springs, had taken the girl to Reno “with knowledge of her intention to travel out of state.”
The juvenile was found at 9 a.m. She was later released to her parents.
Bayne initially denied involvement when questioned during a traffic stop, the sheriff’s office said. He also allegedly tried to dissuade another juvenile witness from cooperating with law enforcement.
