LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

A new suicide fatality report analyzing cases in Louisville gives a broader scope of the sensitive but necessary topic.

The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness released the report Tuesday and held a virtual discussion with members of the review group that helped uncover the findings.

"There’s so much stigma around mental health and suicide," said Geneva Robinson, of Seven Counties Services. "People will tell you everything about them, but they won't tell you if they're having thoughts of suicide."

Community partners catalyst for increasing the discussion and noticing warning signs, is the metro's suicide data from 2019 to 2023. It's alarming, heartbreaking, and on par with national trends.
