Early voting is underway in Jackson County’s recall election targeting County Executive Frank White.

Seven polling places are open in Kansas City, and two more are available in other parts of the county.
Some voters in Independence said they came to the polls early because of frustrations with White’s leadership.
“Well, I wanted to make sure I voted to recall Frank White,” said David Campbell of Independence. “I just thought he’s done a poor job, very poor job. Property taxes , not showing up for meetings, and just lots of different stuff. Just not doing his job.”
Campbell said soaring property assessments were a major factor in his de
