HARTFORD, Conn. — A Waterbury teen was sentenced to a decade behind bars Monday in Hartford federal court for robbing 21 guns from a licensed dealer and committing two carjackings.

Tyssan “Tigger” Woods, 19, will see his sentence followed by four years of supervised release, according to a report from the Interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut.

Prosecutors said Woods stole the firearms from a federally licensed gun dealer in Salem and committed the carjackings in Stamford.

Court documents and statements noted that early in the morning on March 15, 2024, Woods joined Eduardo Cruz and others as they drove a car through the entryway doors of Statewide Pawn Shop, a federal firearms licensee in Salem. They stole a total of 21 guns.
