BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo Common Council member Zeneta Everhart is demanding answers after firefighters ran into water supply issues while battling a major house fire earlier this month.
The three-alarm fire in early September on Victoria Avenue destroyed one family’s home and damaged two others. Everyone in the home made it out safe.
Everhart said the hydrants around the home were not working, which delayed firefighters’ response despite their quick arrival. She is now asking the city to clarify its process for inspecting fire hydrants and explore ways to strengthen it.
