LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- While construction crews work around the clock to set up the Strip circuit for F1 racing, nearby residents told 8 News Now they are the ones paying the price with traffic backups and late-night headaches.
"Right now, we're still in the light construction phase, which is nothing, but once they start blocking streets and interfering with people's ability to attend work or an event, that really is the toughest part on locals," Michael Stewart, who lives nearby said.
Harmon Avenue between Las Vegas Boulevard and Koval Lane is reduced to one lane in each direction from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. through Friday, September 19.
Michael Stewart has been living in the area for 8 years. He said the constant construction tied to F1 has made it harder just to get around the community.
