(FOX40.COM) – The Marysville Police Department is conducting a driving under the influence checkpoint starting on Wednesday afternoon at an undisclosed location in the City of Marysville. • Video above: States with the most strict DUI laws

According to MPD, the checkpoint will start from 5 p.m. and will last until early Thursday morning. DUI checkpoints are determined based on the data that shows the cause of the crash was due to being impaired while driving.

"Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk," Lt. Magana said. "Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improves traffic safety."
