EUGENE, Ore. – A new partnership in West Eugene is reshaping how the community supports unhoused residents recovering from medical crises.
PeaceHealth, Everyone Village, and Volunteers in Medicine celebrated the opening of a new primary care clinic and 10 recuperation cottages on Sept. 16, marking what local leaders call a first-of-its-kind model for Oregon.
The two-room clinic will provide follow-up and primary care on site, helping patients avoid missed appointments and unnecessary emergency room visits. Staffed part-time by Volunteers in Medicine, it will serve recuperation residents and other villagers, making access to ongoing care as simple as walking across campus.
