RICHLAND, Wash. – Mayor Theresa Richardson has proclaimed September 17-23, 2025, as Constitution Week in the City of Richland.

This proclamation coincides with the 238th anniversary of the drafting of the United States Constitution, celebrated on Constitution Day, September 17, 2025.

Richland joins the nation in reflecting on the significance of this historic document, as established by President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s declaration of Constitution Week in 1956.

Organizations like the Daughters of the American Revolution, including the Columbia River Chapter, have been instrumental in promoting this week-long commemoration.

Mayor Richardson emphasized the importance of this observance in reminding citizens of their rights, liberties and freedoms.
