LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — A former Nevada State Supreme Court judge is suing a now-defunct water company over the death of her husband.

In a lawsuit filed in the Clark County District Court, Abbi Silver alleges her husband, Kirk Jaster, developed and died from ALS as a result of drinking Real Water contaminated with hydrazine. Hydrazine is a toxic chemical used in jet and rocket fuel. It’s also known to cause progressive brain diseases like ALS.

According to the lawsuit, in 2021, the FDA found hydrazine in three different Real Water samples from the facility in Henderson. Jaster was diagnosed with ALS in Feb. 2022 and died in Sept. 2024.

The lawsuit also points to a number of cases of liver failure connected to drinking Real Water. Although the company shut down in 2021, it has been named
