CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Tuesday night the Whitecaps became the Midwest League Champions for the first time in a decade.
The Whitecaps defeated the Kernals 3-1 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, finishing off their series sweep.
The team finished the playoffs with a perfect 4-0, winning their seventh championship.
This wraps up a year where the team won 92 games in the regular season, tied for the most in their 31-year history.
Joe Miller shut down the Kernals over five-plus innings and Bennett Lee had the game-winning RBI.
Tuesday night in Cedar Rapids was the perfect way for the 'Caps to finish off one of the best seasons in franchise history.
