YORK, PA. (WHTM) -- As more and more vape and smoke shops continue opening up, a Midstate city may place certain limitations on them.

Those in support said it's an effort to protect minors from being sold products from these stores, something people said has happened more than once in York.

“I don't know why all of a sudden all these vape stores are open everywhere,” said Elizabeth Ackies, a York resident. “They have a million of them now. They didn't have as many before, and the kids are able to go into the store and buy these things. They're not ID'ing them. They're not asking them how old they are.”

Ackies said her 17-year-old daughter was sold smoking devices earlier this year in York.
