WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - People gathered Tuesday night in the courtyard outside the Rhatigan Student Center at Wichita State University for a vigil to remember Charlie Kirk, the right-wing political activist shot and killed in Utah last week.
There was music and several speakers, including students from the local Turning Point USA and religious leaders. They said they came to pay their respects to Kirk and remember his legacy.
“It was really heavy I couldn’t believe it. I was thinking about how when President Trump got shot. I was anticipating him to get better, I didn’t think it was that serious,” said Wichita State student Savanna Sparrow.
Many of those in attendance pledged to carry Kirk’s message forward in his honor.
