Police are searching for a suspect after a man was shot to death in South L.A.

On Sept. 15, Los Angeles police responded to a shopping plaza near South Figueroa Street and Slauson Avenue in the Vermont-Slauson neighborhood around 10:30 p.m.

Arriving officers found a 28-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound at the scene. Officers performed CPR on the unresponsive man while awaiting paramedics. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The shooter fled the scene before police arrived.
