Wednesday will be warm and humid with highs in the mid-90s. There will be more cloud cover in the afternoon with a 20% chance for a passing downpour.

The main weather window to watch: between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. That’s when strong pop-up thunderstorms are forecast to develop in and around Houston. The storms could pack lightning and will reach peak intensity right over the city. By about 6 p.m., expect those storms to move west, with most thunderstorm activity clearing out by 9 p.m.
