CHUBBUCK — A 40-year-old local man was arrested Sunday morning on felony domestic violence charges following an alleged physical altercation in the presence of a child.

Police were dispatched to the Chubbuck residence of Joseph Rogers around 5 a.m. Sunday after a local woman called 911 to report the domestic incident, according to police and court records the Idaho State Journal recently obtained.

The incident began after Rogers consumed alcohol at a party, said police, adding that an argument between Rogers and the victim on the way home eventually turned physical at the Chubbuck residence.

Rogers is accused of grabbing the woman by the neck and pushing her to the ground, causing a scratch on her neck, police said.
