JAPAN (WCBD) – Georgetown native Melissa Jefferson-Wooden does it again.
Known as the fastest woman in the world, Jefferson-Wooden continues to dominate at the World Athletics Championship in Tokyo, Japan.
During the 200-meter race, which was seen early Wednesday morning in the U.S., Jefferson-Wooden finished with a time of 22.24, moving on to the semi-final.
It comes just days after she was named the 2025 World Champion in the 100-meter race, which happened last Sunday, finishing with a time of 10.61 seconds and becoming the fourth-fastest woman in history.
She is now moving forward to the semi-finals on Sept. 18. The finals are set for Friday.
