Two scenes are in place after suspected shootings just streets apart in north Manchester.

Police have said they were called to Ainthorpe Walk in Newton Heath shortly before 10pm last night (Tuesday) following a 'suspected firearms discharge.'

A 'bullet hole' could this afternoon be seen in the window of a house on the street. One local said it was home to a couple and their young son.

A second cordon is also currently in place, just 700 yards away, on Ballantine Street.
