A 40-year-old female driver has been charged after a teenager on a dirt bike was critically injured while riding with friends south of Perth.
WA Police say the incident occurred on Georgetown Drive in Safety Bay about 5.30pm on Tuesday while a group of friends were allegedly riding an unlicensed Yamaha motorcycle along the road.
One bike rider lost control of the motorcycle and crashed, police said, with friends of the 16-year-old boy claiming he is currently in a coma, having undergone brain surgery on Wednesday at Royal Perth Hospital.
The woman, who was driving a Suzuki Grand Vitara has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.
