Holding up a shoe lace taut in front of a jury, an assistant Macomb County prosecutor said Stephen Freeman tightened it around Gabriele Seitz’s neck for up to five minutes to kill her.

“Three to five minutes, Gabriele Seitz had this shoelace around her neck,” Assistant Macomb Prosecutor Darrien Fortier told a jury Tuesday in a Macomb Circuit Court courtroom. “For three to five minutes she had this shoelace around her neck because Stephen Freeman put it there. Three to five minutes, Gabriele Seitz died. Three to five minutes, Stephen Freeman killed her.”
