When it comes to raising kids, actress Melissa Joan Hart wishes she would have done one thing sooner: leaning in to "natural consequences."

"I'm very much about natural consequences now, and I feel like I kind of missed the boat a little bit on my older kids," she tells TODAY.com. Hart, who starred as the title characters in "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" and "Clarissa Explains it All," is raising three boys with her husband, musician Mark Wilkerson: Mason , 19, Braydon, 16, and Tucker, 12.

"We saved them in a lot of cases, especially when it comes to school," she says. "And that's detrimental to their development when they don't have to problem-solve or troubleshoot."
