GREENWOOD, Ind — A man is in custody after a shooting left one person dead Tuesday night at the Westminster Apartments in Greenwood, near U.S. 31 and County Line Road.

It happened around 10:15 p.m. Police haven’t released the victim’s name or said what led up to the shooting. Investigators are still working the case and say more details will be shared once they’re confirmed.

The apartment complex was briefly blocked off as officers responded. Residents nearby say they heard sirens and saw police searching the area late into the night.
